Members of Congress applaud completion of Des Plaines River Asian carp barrier
On October 31, members of the Asian Carp Regional Coordination Committee (ACRCC), Members of Congress, agency officials, and other stakeholders gathered to celebrate the completion of Asian Carp barricades constructed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers along the Des Plaines River and I&M Canal in the Chicago area. The completion of this project, which was funded through the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative, marks an important milestone met under the Asian Carp Control Strategy Framework developed by the ACRCC.
